The interior implementation in a single family home in Ivánka pri Dunaji consisted of our comprehensive services. From the design of all carpentry elements to their final assembly. In order to meet the promised deadline, we used an external partner to produce the living room and hallway furniture according to our design.
In the beginning, the client defined his core idea, which was however only a guide. The new custom-made furniture of the apartment was to be made out of a light, natural material. The combination with white brought more clarity and light to the whole concept. In the family house, we implemented parts such as the kitchen, interior doors, concrete staircase cladding, wall cladding and bathroom furniture.
The core material for producing most of the furniture pieces were spruce bioboards combined with oak veneer and solid oak (staircase). We used spruce boards for solitaire pieces and bathroom furniture as well as wall cladding. Since natural spruce changes its shade due to exposure to UV light, we kept its natural appearance by applying white wax oil.
In the bathrooms, we used a grayer shade. The advantage of treating bioboards this way is the possibility of later modifications. The damaged surface can be repaired by reapplying the wax oil. Another solution is sanding the damaged part first and reapplying the wax oil afterwards. Before the client chooses the surface treatment, we show them our own tests, in which we compared the UV resistance of new coatings on three most used types of wood, such as oak, spruce and birch, over a period of one year.
An interesting part of the whole project was making the kitchen countertop and sink from a single piece. We made it from Kerrock Polar White acrylic stone and added oak veneer to the countertop on the kitchen island. The designer one-piece sink in white thus suitably complemented the furnishings and furniture of the new kitchen, which matched the overall concept of using pale natural shades.
